1. Wash your hair well - but be sure to brush all of your hair until tangle free before rinsing the conditioner.

2. Begin to blowdry in sections using a brush - a radial (cylinder) brush works the best for this look. Take a small section of hair and pull the brush slowly downwards whilst keeping it straight, keeping the hairdryer hovering above, blasting at the hair. Do this until you reach the ends, at which point you need to roll the brush outwards away from your face. Hold the brush still whilst the hairdryer dries the hair your are holding, then release and repeat with the hair around your head. You don't need to repeat the curve all over your head though!

3. When your hair is completely tangle free (if it isn't when you've finished blowdrying, use the radial brush to brush through the hair but don't mess up the ends) toss your head over gently then flip the hair back so that the hair has more volume. Give it a minute to settle then place a comb or brush a third of the way back across your head and brush the whole top layer of hair forwards. Then hold it up, backcomb the underneath and settle in backwards on top of your head, securing it with a clip or bobby pin. [Backcombing; when you brush the hair backwards towards to roots to create volum in your hair.]

4. Spray your hair with a good coat of high quality hairspray and you're done!
